Demarche of Enthusiasts is a combined story of the modern Russian classics. Popular actor Alexander Filippenko brings to life excerpts from Sergei Dovlatov, Vladimir Vyssotsky, Vasily Aksenov and Bulat Okudzhava, marshalling them under a single epigraph: “All of us hail from the 1960s. To be perfectly honest, we lived better then than now. Although the life itself is better now than it was then…” This comparison – however tragic, illogical and sad it may sound – is also irrepressibly funny, giving Filippenko ample opportunity to make his audience laugh and cry, almost at the same time.
Defending the Caveman holds the record as the longest running solo play in Broadway history. Caveman is also now a worldwide rock-solid tour de force that has won the hearts of millions and it’s sure to win yours. Caveman has been seen in 45 countries and translated into 30 different languages (and counting!).
A hilariously insightful play about the ways men and women relate, Caveman has both sexes roaring with laughter and recognition. Affectionate nudging between audience members occurs during the performance as they recognize themselves in the stories being told on stage.
Defending the Caveman makes us laugh at ourselves about all the ways men and women fight, laugh and love. That's why couples all across America and around the world are in love with Defending the Caveman.

Starring Mark Rylance, David Hyde Pierce and Joanna Lumley
By David Hirson
Directed by Matthew Warchus
American playwright David Hirson's rollicking 1991 play, La Bête, is a comic tour de force about Elomire (David Hyde Pierce), a high-minded classical dramatist who loves only the theatre, and Valere (Mark Rylance), a low-brow street clown who loves only himself. When the fickle princess (Joanna Lumley) decides she’s grown weary of Elomire's royal theatre troupe, he and Valere are left fighting for survival as art squares off with ego in a literary showdown for the ages.
La Bête will star Tony and Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance (Jerusalem, Boeing-Boeing), Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce (Dr Niles Crane in Frasier) and BAFTA Award winner Joanna Lumley (Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous) and will be directed by the multi award-winning Matthew Warchus (The Norman Conquests, God of Carnage, Boeing-Boeing).
A new comedy from BAFTA Award-winner and author of Rising Damp Eric Chappell
In life, Dave Thursby was a hugely successful television comedian, loved by the public. In death, he leaves his wife, agent and close companions bereft. They are going to miss Dave terribly. Some of them may even be out of work. Unless, of course, the repeats, television specials, biographies and newspaper tell-alls can fill the vacuum. And who is best placed to exploit the legacy?
Crammed with great jokes, Tom Conti leads a fantastic cast of performers, in this hilarious and fast paced comedy from the author of such classic TV Series as Rising Damp, Duty Free, Only When I Laugh and Home to Roost. Eric Chappell's script reflects a lifetime of working with comedians and he understands the ego of comic genius better than most – exposed hilariously in Wife After Death.

World Premiere
A celebration of a great English heroine, Anne Boleyn dramatises the life and legacy of Henry VIII’s notorious second wife. Anne Boleyn is traditionally seen either as a pawn manipulated by an ambitious father and his friends into the King’s bed, or as a sexually licentious predator, even a witch.
But Brenton puts a very different Anne – and her ghost – on the Globe stage. Witty and confident in her sexuality, she takes on the vicious world of Tudor Court politics. She is in love with Henry but also in love with the most dangerous ideas of her day. Conspiring with the exiled William Tyndale, the great translator of the Bible who was to be burnt as a heretic, Anne plots to make England Protestant, forever.
Award-winning playwright Howard Brenton’s previous work includes In Extremis at Shakespeare's Globe (2006 and 2007).
