Fifty five years on and we still don't know who dunnit. A group of people are gathered together in a remote part of the countryside, and one of them is a murderer. Agatha Christie's classic thriller continues on the world's longest run.
PLEASE NOTE: Please be advised that due to The Woman in Black being on the school syllabus, it is common for large school parties to be attending all performances of this production.
Eel Marsh House stands tall, gaunt and isolated, surveying the endless flat saltmarshes beyond the Nine Lives Causeway, somewhere on England's bleak East Coast. Here Mrs Alice Drablow lived - and died - alone. Young Arthur Kipps, a junior solicitor, is ordered by his firm's senior partner to travel up from London to attend her funeral and then sort out all her papers. His task is a lonely one, and at first Kipps is quite unaware of the tragic secrets which lie behind the house's shuttered windows. He only has a terrible sense of unease. And then, he glimpses a young woman with a wasted face, dressed all in black, at the back of the church during Mrs Drablow's funeral, and later, in the graveyard to one side of Eel Marsh House. Who is she? Why is she there? He asks questions, but the locals not only cannot or will not give him answers - they refuse to talk about the woman in black, or even to acknowledge her existence, at all. So, Arthur Kipps has to wait until he sees her again, and she slowly reveals her identity to him - and her terrible purpose.
The Woman In Black treads in the footsteps of the classic ghost story, following the tradition of Charles Dickens and M.R James, of Henry James and Edith Wharton. It is not a horror story or a tale of terror, yet the events build up to a horrifying climax and instil a sense of horror. It relies on atmosphere, a vivid sense of place, on hints and glimpses and suggestions, on what is shadowy, heard and sometimes only half-seen, to chill the reader's blood to the marrow and make reading the book alone at night inadvisable for the faint-hearted.
The Woman In Black was first performed at the theatre-by-the-sea in Scarborough back in 1987. The original production received rave reviews, paving the way for future productions throughout the country. It reached the West End in 1989 where it has been a major audience puller ever since. Its success has subsequently reached a global level, having spread to the US, South America and through to the Tokyo theatre scene, and beyond.
Unanimously acclaimed by the critics and now celebrating over 14 years in the West End, The Woman In Black combines the power and intensity of live theatre with the cinematic quality of film noir.

A DANCE show created by Danish choreographer Peter Schaufuss using the Rolling Stones greatest hits as a backdrop, Satisfaction, will run for a limited season – from August 29 (preview August 28) to September 8, 2007 – at the Apollo Theatre.
The show which is neither a ballet nor a musical, has been described as a ‘dancical’, or in Schaufuss’ own words “a vibrant and fascinating multimedia experience of dance, music and light which capture the audience.”
Twenty five dancers from Schaufuss’ company will perform to the soundtrack’s 24 hits, which include Get Off My Cloud, Sympathy for the Devil, Ruby Tuesday, Paint Is Black, Wild Horses and (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction. Each will be individually choreographed and tell its own story.
The Apollo staging will also feature caricatures of Stones’ members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Charlie Woods by The Sunday Times cartoonist Gerald Scarfe.
Schaufuss, a former director of the London Festival Ballet (now the English National Ballet), set up his own company, the Peter Schaufuss Ballet, in Denmark in 1997, since when he has created 17 productions – among them the controversial dance piece based on the life of the Princess of Wales, Diana the Princess.

The long running rock ‘n’ roll musical biography of 50s recording star Buddy Holly, returns to London in August for a West End run at the Duchess theatre.
Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story, to give it its full title, is a musical journey through the tragically short career of young rock ‘n’ roll star Buddy Holly, who died in a plane crash in February 1959 aged 22. Charting the three years from the musician’s first recording contract through his move to New York and the fatal tour of Midwest America with Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper, the show sees Buddy singing his way from the recording studio in Nashville Tennessee to Harlem’s Apollo Theatre, culminating in a live rock ‘n’ roll finale at the Winter Dance Party. Along the way the musical features over 20 of Buddy’s greatest hits including Peggy Sue, That’ll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Rave On, Heartbeat and Raining In My Heart.
Buddy is written by Alan Janes and Rob Bettinson, who produce and direct the production respectively.

Made in 1975 with Tim Curry as Frank 'n' Furter, Susan Sarandon as Janet, Richard O'Brien as Riff Raff and Meatloaf as Eddie, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the craziest, most action-packed, romantic, scary Transylvanian party of all time. Now at long last The Rocky Horror Picture Show gets what it's been SCREAMING for - the full Sing-a-long-a treatment that you love so well. If you've done The Time Warp before, you'll never have done it quite like this!
Here are a few more details about the show:
It's not compulsory to dress up but many people do and it really adds to the fun. Dip into the wardrobe of your imagination and surprise us with your creation.
There is a 30-minute pre-film show during which the host leads you through a vocal warm-up, prepares you for special moments throughout the film and judges the fancy dress competition. Everyone receives a free goody bag with special props for the “magic moments” that make the evening go with a bang.
With pre-show, the evening lasts about 2 hours 30 mins, including an interval.
This takes place after about one and a quarter hours and lasts for 15 minutes. Most venues we play at have a bar, which is usually open throughout the evening.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 12 certificate film in the UK and so you can only attend if you are 12 or older. Much of the content of the film is raunchy and may not be suitable for the faint-hearted! Remember that the first rule of Sing-a-long-a is THERE ARE NO RULES!
